It is a traditional
Chinese medicine hospital of Class B of Grade 3. Founded
in September 1977, it combines traditional Chinese
medicine with modern Western medicine, and integrates
medical treatment, scientific research, teaching,
rehabilitation and health care. The hospital covers
a land area of 13,896 m2, with floor space of 21,262
m2. Of the total working staff of 1,340 persons, 1,267
are medical personnel, accounting for 78.5%. 40 boast
senior professional titles, and 82 people intermediate
professional titles. The hospital also boasts 7 provincially
or nationally renowned doctors specializing in traditional
Chinese medicine. The hospital has 350 beds, 17 clinic
departments, 10 medical technique departments, and
32 specialty departments. The hospital is equipped
with Spiral CT, Color Doppler, Full Automation Biochemistry
Analyzer, Full Automation Blood Analyzer, Toshiba
500mA X-ray Machine, Toshiba 600C X-ray Arm Machine,
Full Automation Immunity Analyzer, Fiber Gastroscope,
Os Densimeter, and other medical equipment.
Bone Injury Department of the hospital is the key
specialty department of the municipality. Department
of Andriatrics and Department of Oncology are the
featured specialty departments named by Ningbo Health
Bureau for the traditional Chinese medicine treatment.
Up to 10 research tasks from the hospital have been
listed on the municipal or the provincial master plan
for scientific research. Two scientific achievements
have been awarded the prize for scientific progress
by the municipality and the province. In 1988, the
hospital was honored by the Ministry of Health as
National Model Collective in Healthcare. In 1987,
the hospital was credited by Zhejiang Provincial Health
Bureau as Model Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital
in the Province. In 1995, the hospital was upgraded
to be the traditional Chinese medicine hospital of
Class B of Grade 3, after verification by Zhejiang
Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration.
In 1998, it was approved by the provincial Health
Bureau and Education Commission as the teaching hospital
of Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Institute.
Attached to the hospital are Ningbo Traditional Chinese
Medicine Research Institute, Ningbo Traditional Chinese
Medicine Society, and the Municipal Center for Continuing
Education on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
