Established in 1843 and formerly named as Huamei Hospital, Ningbo No. 2 Hospital is one of the earliest hospitals of western medicine. It is an extensive and nationally three garde hospital with 802 beds and it is also a part of Asian Emergency Aid (AEA) networking.

1. Department of Ophthalmology: it provides the treatment of eye diseases of all kinds. We carry out the treatment of cornea transplantation, cataract removal, implantation of artificial lens, operation of vitreous body and retina and also provides those treatment of fundus diseases, ametropia, amblyopia, strabismus and ocular tumor.

2. Department of Stomatology: which provides the treatment of stomatic diseases of all kinds. We carry out the diagnosis and treatment of odontal disease, oulonitis, alveolysis, especially excellent in the treatment of blennasis. We also have some special outpatient department to treat diseases like stomatic pain, orthodontics, tooth-plantation, and prosthesis of baked porcelain teeth.

3. Center of Urology: which provides the treatment of urinary diseases of all kinds and carries out extracorporeal lithotripsy and regular operations of diseases of more than 10 kinds. We also undertook the endoscopic kidney exeresis in the abdomen, which is the first of this kind in Zhejiang Province.

4. Department of Orthopaedics: we focused on the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of vertebra and some main joints. We also carry out the operations of spinal cord, artificial joint changing, and the prosthesis of peripheral nerve.

5. Department of Tumor: which is the key discipline in the city. We carry out the operation of tumor of all kinds with the therapy of radiopraxis, chemotherapy, immunity, and traditional Chinese medicine to strengthen body resistance. So the results are quite satisfactory. Being one of the earliest hospitals that carried out radiology treatment on the tumor diseases, we are equipped with some advanced facilities like linear accelerator and analog locator.

6. Center of Burn Cases: which is the only treatment center of burn in the east Zhejiang Province. We undertake the treatment of burn cases and have saved a great many of patients suffered from extensive burns.
